The Nile River cruise season operates year-round, so your choice depends on your heat tolerance and budget preferences.

The main difference is direction and pacing. A 3-night cruise typically sails from Aswan to Luxor, while a 4-night cruise goes from Luxor to Aswan. The 4-night option offers a more relaxed pace with additional time at key sites and sometimes includes extra stops. If you’re short on time, the 3-night cruise covers all major temples but with a slightly more condensed schedule. Both directions visit the same major attractions including Karnak, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae Temple.

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temple visits (out of respect for local customs).
